What a weekend of cycling!
Chris Froome claiming his 4th Yellow Jersey; Simon Yates taking his first White Jersey (following in his brother Adam's footsteps); Lizzie Deignan coming 2nd in La Course and not 1, not 2 but 3 BRC social rides!
It all started on Friday evening with the Friday Night Social to The Chancery where the reward for getting up the 12.5% Stock Hill is one of the greatest sausage rolls you'll ever have the pleasure of eating (not to mention the fries and chicken wings).
As the heavens started to open up later in the evening, an intrepid group of six met at the club shortly before midnight to set-off on the annual Brighton By Night ride. A massive congratulations to Siobhan Carroll (and thanks for organising!), Lee McGinley, Conaill McGinley, Aurelia Osborne, Pat Moran & Ray Tierney for braving the weather!
On Sunday morning, 21 riders gathered at the club and set-off in 3 groups towards Chiddingstone Castle in search of tea/coffee and cake! The lead group managed to miss the castle entrance and added a good handle of miles and another hill before circling back. Plenty of happy faces were on show once we all made it to Chiddingstone, all of us blissfully ignorant of the fact that Hubbards was sneaked in to the route homewards!
Whilst no-one managed all 3, plenty of members went on 2 of the 3 and special mention should go to Lee McGinley and Pat Moran who managed both Brighton and Chiddingstone (just).
